What I Need To Get Started:

  • I will need several photos of your animal(s) that show him/her in typical poses that you like.  It is helpful for me to have several head shots with clear pictures of the eyes and your favorite expressions.  Try to get photos that show your pet's markings clearly and are truly representative of his/her coloring.  The best photos are taken in natural light without a flash, but not in direct sunlight which tends to wash the color out.

  • If you animal is deceased, don't worry - I will just work with the photos you have.

  • Please do not forget to indicate which pose is your favorite!

  • Photographs can be mailed to me or e-mailed as high resolution digital images at 300 dpi jpeg files.

  • Photos that are mailed will be returned with the finished portrait.

  • I will make suggestions as to what size canvas will make the best painting but, you and I will make the final decision together.

  • I require a 50% deposit to begin the painting, with the balance due upon completion and your approval of the portrait. I accept checks or money orders made payable to Jan Settle.  Deposits may also be made using Pay Pal.  I will e-mail a digital image of the portrait to you when it is completed for your approval.  All of my paintings are shipped via UPS or FedEx Ground.  Approximate shipping charges will be provided to you at the time of order and are not included in the price of the painting.

  • It usually take 2-3 weeks to complete a painting, however, if you need it by a particular date, I will try my best to accommodate you.
